About
Engineering leader & builder
I'm an exited CTO who spent 13 years co-founding and scaling a nationwide edtech platform — from the first commit through acquisition. I've built engineering orgs from scratch, owned multi-million-dollar budgets, and still write code when teams need unblocking.
My sweet spot is the overlap of platform architecture, team design, and practical systems — the kind that help lean organizations punch above their weight.

Co-Founder & CTO, Generation Esports
Co-founded as a high school student to create academic opportunities through esports — the same path athletes had. Started as a WordPress site with external tools. As the platform grew, competition quality degraded, so I built a custom platform from scratch. I was the only technical founder and learned to code by building exactly what the organization needed. Bootstrapped for ~6 years before raising. By exit: 200K+ users, 5K+ institutions, ~$30M raised across seed rounds, Series A (2021), and Series B (2022). Board member through acquisition by PlayVS. PlayVS acquired us primarily for Blueprint.study, the team, and market share in the space.
2024 – 2026

Head of Technology (Advisory), Blackjack Apprenticeship
Advisory engagement. Built a lean attack team of 3 on a restricted budget. Shipped multiple features on ProBetting — a blackjack simulation engine for calculating edge and expected value given game variables. Migrated ProBetting's computation to on-demand AWS Lambda, reducing cost of generating reliable statistical data. Led acquisition of a mobile training drill app. Modernized community forum features and maintained legacy training systems.
2025 – 2026
Head of Engineering, PlayVS
Post-acquisition integration across three acquired companies. Org redesign through layoffs, operational automation, recruiting platform MVP in under a month.
Now
What's next
Exploring senior engineering leadership roles, hobbyist builds, and writing about DX, team design, and shipping under constraints.
I'm especially interested in building meaningful agents for organizations — tools that fit real workflows, earn trust with the teams using them, and deliver measurable impact instead of demo-ware.
Things I believe
- Lean teams win when ownership is clear and DX is treated as product.
- Automation should eliminate toil with measurable before/after — not slide decks.
- The best technical leaders still ship — especially when the team is stuck.
- Async-first ops change how teams scale, not just how they deploy.
